Deaf Missions

Deaf Missions exists to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ to deaf people. They are focused on a group of people who have generally been left out. The deaf community need the gospel presented to them in their own language—the same as any other culture or people-group requires.

DM is touching the lives of deaf people in all 50 states and in more than 50 different nations.  The Ministry falls into three general areas: (1) preparing and distributing Bible visuals for the deaf; (2) training Christians—both deaf and hearing—to minister among deaf people; and (3) doing personal work among deaf people.

Desert Ministries

Since August 1992, Desert Ministries has worked to give hope and love to people who are in a desert-like condition--hopeless, isolated and discarded by society--reaching into care facilities for the elderly and mentally handicapped.

Their Care Facility Outreach program provides visits at various care facilities. Encouragement is offered through music, poetry, drama, animals and one-on-one conversation.

Caregiver Links is a safe place where families and caregivers of elderly parents, spouses or other dependent persons can meet for support.

Medical Workshops are offered to nurses, nursing assistants and physicians where they are taught how to meet the spiritual needs of their patients.

Desert Ministries also has a radio show on KCRO 600 AM airing Saturdays 1-2 PM.

The Foundry

The Foundry is a non-profit coffee shop, concert venue, art gallery and community meeting place located in the downtown Benson area of Omaha. Their goal is to serve the Benson community and the city of Omaha with the heart of Christ and to provide effective compassion to those in their community.

They are open for concerts and events as well as meetings and just hanging out. City Church also meets there on Sunday mornings. They invite you to stop in and enjoy a Jones Soda or a free cup of coffee and find out more about The Foundry by talking to one of their volunteers.

All of the volunteers there have a passion for their community and a heart for people. Most importantly though they all share the love of Christ and a desire to spread His name in love and truth.

Nebraska Christian College

The mission of Nebraska Christian College is to glorify God through the ministry of educating people at the undergraduate level for His work. Nebraska Christian College seeks to equip people who will know the Christ revealed in the scripture, and will present Him to their contemporaries.

Their desire “to know Christ and to make Him known” breathes life into every plan, course, conversation, ministry and extra-curricular activity of campus life.

Brad and Buffie Mumm

Brad and Buffie Mumm work with Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Denver, CO.

Brad worked in the business arena until his job was downsized in 2007. Brad says, “After 20 years of executive-level responsibilities and challenges, God has called me into a new line of work with new challenges and with life-changing opportunities. God has been working on me in a mighty way and this “course change” has been a long time coming.”

The primary goal for this ministry is to establish relationships with leaders in the business community and equip them to lead more effectively within their marketplace, their families and their

neighborhood. This mission field is compelling because it targets individuals who often have become isolated or convinced that their faith-based beliefs don’t have a place in the marketplace.

Brad, through the FCA model, believes that through Christian relationship building and personal accountability, they can heal and save the hearts of men in the business community. Those men, in turn, can share their faith within their own sphere of influence. As this ministry grows, the Kingdom of God will grow too.

Tory and Kara Satter

Tory and Kara Satter have worked with Arizona Reservation Ministry (ARM) in Globe, AZ since 2004. Kara leads the Children’s Bus Ministry and Tory leads the Teens’ Bus and Sports Ministries.

Tory and Kara had been married three years when, on several short-term mission trips to ARM, their hearts were broken by a complete lack of hope among the Apache people.

The reservation has more than 14,000 residents and over 70% are unemployed. The alcoholism, drug abuse and gang activity is high. The rate of suicide is far above the national average.

ARM exists to encourage and assist the Apache Christians. When the Satters are not on the bus, you might find them at ball games on the reservation, sharing a meal with Apache friends, helping with whatever need arises or ministering through soccer in Globe.

They currently share their home with five Apache young people in addition to their own two children, Trey and Emilee.

Tommy and Jennifer White

Tommy and Jennifer (Haynes) White said their vows over 19 years ago and set off on an incredible journey of ministry. Their path led from southwest Kansas to the Oregon Coast and then on to Omaha, Nebraska. The Whites have again followed God, now to Salt Lake City, UT to work with Impact Ministries.

At the outset of this journey the Whites will spend time on area campuses (SLCC, BYU, U of U, Weber State, Westminster College), targeting college age individuals.

They also plan to encourage churches and pastors through prayer perhaps birthing a 24/7 prayer center.

Christians’ Haven

Christians’ Haven (CH) is an evangelistic outreach to street children and orphans in the Philippines. It began in 1996 when God laid a burden on the hearts of Ken and Angelica Oosting to get involved in ministry. God brought street children into their lives during their honeymoon in Iligan City, Philippines.

The purpose of CH is to get abandoned and orphaned children off the streets and into a haven of love and care. At CH children receive a Christian education, nutritional and medical attention, discipline, shelter, support and encouragement in a loving Christian home.

The children, safe within their new environment, begin to understand the hope that comes from receiving the gift of salvation.

These children are then taught the discipleship process by actively participating in activities such as: feeding children still on the streets, helping the elderly, street evangelism, community service, and hospital and prison ministry.

In 2007 and 2008, CH housed and cared for over 100 children. They celebrated the graduation of their first college student, Raul Edroso in 2007.

WE-GO Mission Coalition

WE-GO Mission started in 1992 when the Soviet Union was dissolved and US churches poured into Russia to share Christ.

At a time when many would have been contemplating retirement, the Max and Marilyn Goins moved to Moscow to plant churches and start a Bible College.

The Goins' plan from the beginning was to enable the Russian people to take over the work.
His current project is to develop modern methods of distance learning to replace the old system of correspondence studies.
