18Twenty Prayer Meeting   Kingsway’s Prayer Gathering is an intimate and quiet setting where individuals intentionally shut out the demands of the day and set their hearts on God. 18Twenty comes from the passage Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Each time we gather we try to keep the gathering simple and still. And while each meeting is unique in some way, a typical prayer meeting includes: moments of silence, music, and intentional and open prayer, a reflection or thought from the Bible and a chance for individuals to share what is on their heart. Depending on the week, deeper, focused prayer for individuals and organizations is included.

On occasion when there are special prayer needs, we will provide creative ways to express ourselves in prayer and intercession and concern. Our purpose for this prayer gathering is to provide our congregation and community a time and place to meet together every week to seek God’s Presence in an unhurried way. We desire to be a church body that whole-heartedly embraces the priority of prayer over busy church activity.

BASK Prayer Room BASK is an acrostic which stands for Boldly Asking, Seeking and Knocking, taken from Matthew 7. It offers individuals a quiet, private space to spend time in prayer. From day one our prayer room has taken on a very holy and spiritual mood. There is a sense that as a church family, we genuinely care about each other enough to set aside an hour a week to intercede for the lost and hurting through utilizing this special room. Freneo Prayer Conference Freneo is a Greek word that means “purpose”. Paul uses this word in his letter to the Colossians when he says, “...set your hearts on things above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things” (Colossians 3:1-2). Because we live in a world that is greatly distracted by earthly things, each October at Kingsway our desire is to fix our eyes fully on Christ and deepen our relationship with Him. We’ve completed our fourth consecutive Conference, with each year looking a little different from the others.

In 2007 we spiced up our Conference with Pastor Jimmy Holman, leader of All Nations Church in Southwest Kansas. Pastor Jimmy brought passionate preaching that added a new flavor to the prayer conference. In 2008 Freneo welcomed Pastor Bob Russell to speak. Pastor Russell just retired from his church of 20,000 in Kentucky to spend more time traveling, speaking and encouraging believers! In 2009 we were blessed by author and speaker David Butts, founder and president of Harvest Prayer Ministries.
