Safety and Security

Health & Safety Procedures

Your child’s safety is of the highest priority, right after knowing Jesus.

Below you will find a list of ways that we ensure your child is well looked after while in our care.

Background and Reference Checks

We check a national background data base, as well as state and national sex offender registries.  We also require a minimum of 3 references with all of our volunteers.  No adults are allowed to be alone with any child, for any reason.  Bathrooms are cleared of anyone before entering.

Check-in and Check-out

You and your child will be given check in stickers which will have matching numbers printed on them.  You will need to show your parent tag to your child’s teacher in order to pick them up from class. You will be asked to provide names on your registration sheet for anyone who is approved to pick up your child.  If they do not have the matching parent tag, they may be asked to show ID. If they are not listed, we will not release your child to them.

Tornado and Fire Precautions

We have set guidelines for fire, tornado and other safety issues.  There are laid out plans to keep your child safe.  In the event of a tornado, they will be taken to designated rooms downstairs.  For a fire, you will meet your child at the southeast side of the building.

Health and Illness

We are aware of the high mortality rate among infants in Nebraska due to whooping cough. Infants cannot be vaccinated until the age of 2 months to protect them from this illness. Because Kingsway is not a licensed facility, we cannot require our volunteers and workers to be vaccinated against any illness. We ask that each parent use their best judgement when deciding whether to leave your child in the Kingsway Kids program, whether it be that another child has been sick, or your own child has been sick.

If any of the following are observed in the 48 hours prior to Sunday Services, or if your child has been prescribed an antibiotic within 48 hours of Sunday morning, we ask that the Kingsway Kids volunteers and kids remain at home:

-Fever of 100 or higher
-Questionable Rash
-Discharge in or around eyes
-Green or yellow runny nose
-Excessive coughing
-Any communicable disease

If your child becomes sick with a communicable disease, including lice, after attending Kingsway Kids, we ask that you let the church staff know immediately so we can let parents know to watch for symptoms. You will remain anonymous.

Our facility is sanitized each week and we deep clean each room once a month. The nursery is sanitized between services as well. We have hand sanitizer for our volunteers and we do not allow shoes to be worn in the nursery. Booties are provided for our workers in order to remain sanitized and clean in the nursery for our little ones.

If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact the Children’s Ministry Director, Stacy Haynes at (402) 333-2231 or

Safety Team

Kingsway Christian Church takes safety seriously for all events that occur on our campus.  Our goal is to create an environment that is safe and secure for all attendees.  We want each person to be able to have the ability to worship with a peace of mind.  To ensure the safety of your children in our Kingsway Kids area, we utilize a check-in system that creates a unique I.D. tag. This tag ensures that each child is picked up by the correct parent/guardian.  Additionally, each teacher/volunteer has completed a comprehensive background check.
We have both armed and unarmed undercover security for our campus.  Each member of the safety team is responsible for responding to any needs that are either emergency and/or non-emergency at Kingsway.  The team has completed a comprehensive background check and necessary medical (CPR) and firearms training (CCW).
